Dashboard Prototype Penobscot Bay Media

This was pretty cool: one of my bosses came up with an idea for a product that can be re-purposed easily for all different scenarios. The best part about it was I was given free reign: the application just had to be able to pull in a wide variety of data and be able to display them on the map; these sources also had to be able to be updated on a given interval. The product was to originally be a prototype, something that could be used to show to potential clients.

I decided to build a GeoRSS reader into the app to populate the application with data, as GeoRSS can display a wide variety of information: points, polylines, polygons, images along with the data for that geometry. Everything on the app, from map layers, to colors, alphas, services, extents, ...you name it, everything was able to be configured via a config script at compile time.
